Community Interpreter Services
Established in 1986, Community Interpreter Services (CIS) assists limited English speakers in accessing legal, health, educational, and other services. Our highly skilled interpreters serve as a crucial link between service providers and limited English speakers. Interpreters are recognized for their quality and service excellence.
Program Facts
- CIS has a network of over 150 trained and professional interpreters who, collectively, speak over 60 languages
- Interpreters are recruited on a regular basis to meet the geographic and linguistic needs of our clients
- CIS can train your employees in techniques for effective intercultural communication through an interpreter
Our Interpreters
- CIS interpreters are proficient in their language and are often native speakers. Many of them are college educated with several years of interpreting experience
- Our interpreters are bilingual and bicultural, possessing the ability to apply cross-cultural insight to each interpreting session
