The ESOL Teacher provides group instruction to adult learners, assesses student progress, track student attendance throughout the cycle, assists Program Student Advisor/Counselor on student goals and Program Director with student data collection. The candidate will exhibit classroom management skills, and prepares lesson plans and materials for classes.
The essential functions will include; prepare and implement curriculum that is class/level appropriate; develop lesson plans and materials for class; Teach assigned subjects (ESOL, Life Skills, Computer Basics and lesson task utilizing Computers); Maintain communication with students to provide on-going assessment of students’ needs; Evaluate students’ educational and vocational progress in cooperation with the student Advisor/Counselor; occasionally oversees volunteers with assigned students and/or class; Participate in monthly Teacher Sharing meetings.
Qualifications include BA in Education or related field or related field with at least two years experience as an ESOL Teacher
Bilingual Bicultural preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
Candidate must also have the ability to work with people of all ethnic, cultural, social and economic background.
