The Catholic Charitable Bureau of the Archdiocese of Boston is seeking a part-time Direct Care Staff for our Bridgid’s Crossing Family services located in Lowell to join its team of dedicated professionals.
The Direct Care Staff is responsible for assisting, overseeing and instructing residents with parenting skills and activities of daily living to ensure a safe and positive living environment. Direct Care Staff is responsible for maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times while fostering a positive and mentoring relationship.
The Direct Care Staff will maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the residents of the program to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
Must be alert and responsive to recognize and respond to emergency situations quickly, appropriately and effectively.
Transport residents as planned to various locations including all Service Plan related tasks.
Assist and instruct residents in the activities of daily living and parenting skills utilizing the PAYA curriculum.
Enforce program rules and regulations. Model appropriate behavior for the residents.
Ensure that program policies and procedures are followed and report problems to the Clinical Director, Program manager and the On Call Administrator in a timely manner in accordance with program policy.
Assist with the implementation of Service Plan tasks.
Complete all documentation, incident reports, email reports and daily logs in a timely, clear and professional manner.
Implement Med. Management Program as directed by the Program Manager.
Advocate for assigned residents as appropriate with the Service Plan and program policy and procedure. Meet with the Clinician and residents once weekly.
Supervise all meal preparations prepared by residents and assure that all children are fed a nutritious meal at designated times.
Provide oversight and assistance to assure that all common areas and, bedrooms and bathrooms of the facility are cleaned properly and maintained in a safe and healthy way.
Participate in monthly staff meeting and biweekly supervision with the Program Manager and Clinical Director. Complete 24 hours of training yearly
Follow agency policy for use of agency vehicle at all times.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with prior related work or volunteer experience. Or, an Associate’s degree with three prior years of experience working with adolescents in a similar environment.
Current CPR and First Aid training certification.
Experience with de-escalation skills.
Must understand and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to work with a varied and occasionally difficult client population.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Bilingual, bicultural, Spanish, Khmer speaking ability preferred.
Competent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, and Internet.
A valid Massachusetts driver’s license and good driving record.
Ability to lift, push and pull up to 10 pounds without assistance.
