Catholic Charities Child Care Center in Somerville is seeking a full-time Family Child Care Director to be responsible for the management and business operations of the family child care systems with Catholic Charities.    Join a dedicated team of employees to provide leadership and quality child care to the children and families of our program.

Recruit and mentor employees to establish an environment that values teamwork and respects the diversity of all cultures.  Monitor and maintain enrollment, participate, plan and oversee an annual budget, provide performance coaching and employee appraisals. Create and maintain a recruitment plan for recruiting new providers and the process up and including the sign-on process of new providers.  Work closely with families to ensure a smooth transition and by establishing professional relationships and informational meeting as requested. Meet all guidelines as established by EEC and work collaboratively with other agency child care directors to ensure best practice and care.   Identify and build community connections through membership councils, boards, and community events.

The Director of Family Child Care reports to the Senior Family Child Care Director, while building relationships for professional networking with other agency Child Care Directors.

Qualifications include a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood related field for equivalent experience. 

EEC Director Certification, Director I or II as applicable.

Three to five years experience in child care, human or social services.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the interest and ability to speak to various sized groups

Knowledge of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations.

The ability to lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.

A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for local travel.
