During these uncertain and unprecedented times, Catholic Charities continues to serve our community members as best we can, while ensuring the safety and health of our staff, volunteers and clients. Below is a status update (organized by region) of our programs that are open, closed, or postponed. Please check this page regularly for updates.

 

Community Interpreter Services (CIS): OPEN

 

CCAB-WIDE Childcare: All CCAB Childcare centers are open with the exception of the Yawkey Center, which is set to open July 20th. Family-based child care centers are opening with a staggered approach. Please contact your provider directly.

    Shelters: Shelters continue to operate normally. 

    Adult Education: Adult Education classes in the Greater Boston and South regions will operate remotely until further notice.

    Basic Needs: CCAB Service Centers in Brockton, Lynn and Lowell are operating with limited staff and services. Check with the location for information on services available.

    How You Can Help

    As schools and businesses shutter their doors in the wake of the developing coronavirus pandemic, we at Catholic Charities are focused on supporting our vulnerable communities through this challenging and frightening time.

    Please consider making donations of food, supermarket gift cards and hygiene items (toothpaste, shampoo, soap) so we can keep our pantries and basic needs operations fully stocked. Items can be dropped off or sent to our site at Catholic Charities Yawkey Center, 185 Columbia Road, Dorchester - 617-506-6600. (You can easily support us via an Amazon delivery, too.) We will distribute across our network of sites from this central Yawkey Center location.

    CCAB and COVID-19 News

    With the escalation of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) across our country and the globe, Catholic Charities of Boston continues to monitor closely all available information to determine any impact on our programs and daily operations. The guidance from federal, state and local authorities is rapidly changing.

    Our priority remains the health, safety and well-being of our clients, employees and volunteers. We will continue to update you if COVID-19 developments lead us to alter any of our programs and services.

    In the meantime, we urge you to practice good-hygiene, including frequent hand-washing, covering your mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, sanitizing surfaces-- including phones, computer keyboards, doorknobs and light switches. Please contact a healthcare professional with any health concerns that you are experiencing.
