El Centro Information Technology (IT) Support Training is a workforce development program that prepares students for successful attainment of entry-level IT Desktop Support jobs and future careers in IT. Information Technology is a rapidly developing field with job opportunities in multiple industries, including e-commerce, healthcare, education and finance. The program consists of 6 months of classroom training, where students will earn the IT Support Specialist certification (CompTIA A+) and then transition to a 6-month internship with a local employer. Employment placement assistance continues upon completion of the program. Classes are small, consisting of 10 people per cohort, and are taught via blended in-person/online instruction. In-person classes are offered 3 days a week from 9 am to 3 pm, totaling 18 hours weekly; online classes are 8 hours weekly, with the flexibility to fit your schedule.
Ideal candidate possesses:
- Passion and motivation to pursue a career
- US Work Authorization or in the process of receiving it
- High intermediate/advanced English
- Available for 1 year: training classes 3 days in person 2 days online followed by a 6 months internship with a US employer
