Residents "Shop" at Brigid's Crossing

Located on-site at Brigid's Crossing Shelter for Young Mothers is a "store," funded primarily by friends, family, and local community donors,  used as part of an incentive program for shelter residents.

By performing extra work around the house, displaying positive parenting skills, and supporting their peers, residents can earn credits to shop at the "store" for items like new and gently used clothing, shoes, jewelry, hygiene items, makeup, fun room/home décor, activity items, and baby and kids items.

This incentive program promotes and teaches positive behaviors, healthy daily habits, and hard work among residents. The program also focuses on and requires other learned life skills such as budgeting, managing finances, and being responsible.
