Catholic Charities News
Catholic Charities of Boston is proud to operate five temporary and permanent residential shelters in Eastern Massachusetts, dedicated primarily to women and children. Our shelters in Dorchester, Lowell, Newton Roxbury and Somerville serve almost 50 families and 130 people, and act as safe havens for young pregnant women, young mothers, women suffering from substance addition, those fleeing abusive situations, and homeless women.
All of our shelters are staffed by trained women and men who help guide each resident through their path to self-sufficiency and independent living.

We are now over four months into the COVID-19 pandemic that continues to have a widespread impact on Catholic Charities of Boston’s 70+ programs and services.
The owners of Spry Moving are longtime supporters of Catholic Charities’ Yawkey Center, often spending weekends picking up donations from local businesses and individual donors, and delivering them to our Yawkey food pantry in Dorchester.
