Within days of President Obama’s announcement of immigration reform, Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley said Saturday that the Catholic Charities of Boston will provide further services to immigrant communities, including outreach sessions and a multilingual informational hotline.
“Immigration is not primarily a political problem, but rather a deeply human and profoundly moral challenge facing our nation,” O’Malley said in a written statement.
LAWRENCE — For most people, Thanksgiving dinner serves as the highlight of the holiday. But there are many people, including residents of the Merrimack Valley, who don’t have the luxury of a big Thanksgiving Day meal.
Fortunately, those Merrimack Valley residents are being given the chance to have such a meal, thanks to a longtime non-profit organization.
Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley and other Catholic leaders are urging Congress to pass permanent immigration reform, calling sweeping executive orders announced earlier this week by President Obama a good first step.
