In The Pilot: Instead of Giving Up this Lent, Give Back
As we embark on this Lenten season, we at Catholic Charities of Boston (CCAB) encourage others to give back instead of giving something up. The health and economic impacts of COVID-19 have been especially challenging for our most vulnerable community members, and now, more than ever, we need donor support to help us help our neighbors in need gain access to life's basic necessities. One unique way people can donate to CCAB is through our vehicle donation program in partnership with Charitable Adult Rides and Services (CARS).
Volunteers Needed This Weekend: RIS "Shopping" Event
Calling all local Boston volunteers!
Catholic Charities of Boston's Refugee and Immigrant Services division is hosting a Covid-friendly Refugee Shopping Day on **THIS SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20th**, a day where refugees can "shop" through our donations. We are looking for in-person volunteers who can help facilitate this event. Each refugee family will have an hour time slot.
**We need more volunteers in the afternoon**
Join Us in Giving Back this Lent
Wednesday, February 17, marks the beginning of Lent. This Lenten season, we're asking you to join us in giving back instead of giving something up. Catholic Charities is honored to share messages from some of our community partners who find inspiration in the many ways our neighbors have given back to those most in need, particularly this past year.
Today, we hear a message from Father John Currie, pastor of Dorchester Catholic. Please watch Father Currie’s message below and consider joining us as we give back to those in need across our communities this Lent.
COVID-19 Vaccinations Begin at Catholic Charities of Boston
Catholic Charities is pleased to announce that we have begun distributing COVID-19 vaccinations to our shelter and food pantry staff members, volunteers, and guests. It is a relief to know this rollout is underway, and we look forward to the day when we all have an opportunity to protect ourselves against this deadly virus.
