Calling all local Boston volunteers!
Catholic Charities of Boston's Refugee and Immigrant Services division is hosting a Covid-friendly Refugee Shopping Day on **THIS SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20th**, a day where refugees can "shop" through our donations. We are looking for in-person volunteers who can help facilitate this event. Each refugee family will have an hour time slot.
**We need more volunteers in the afternoon**
Wednesday, February 17, marks the beginning of Lent. This Lenten season, we're asking you to join us in giving back instead of giving something up. Catholic Charities is honored to share messages from some of our community partners who find inspiration in the many ways our neighbors have given back to those most in need, particularly this past year.
Today, we hear a message from Father John Currie, pastor of Dorchester Catholic. Please watch Father Currie’s message below and consider joining us as we give back to those in need across our communities this Lent.
Catholic Charities is pleased to announce that we have begun distributing COVID-19 vaccinations to our shelter and food pantry staff members, volunteers, and guests. It is a relief to know this rollout is underway, and we look forward to the day when we all have an opportunity to protect ourselves against this deadly virus.
This Valentine’s Day weekend, we encourage you to forego a dinner out and, instead, feed a family in need in your local community.
This year has been challenging for us all, but has been especially difficult for those most vulnerable. As the financial pressures sparked by the coronavirus continue, more people than ever before are turning to our food pantries to put nutritious meals on the table to feed their families.
