We are pleased to share a story from Catholic Charities USA, highlighting a collaboration between CC USA and three New England Catholic Charities agencies to help communities facing food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Catholic Charities of Boston’s Refugee and Immigrant Services division will host a COVID-friendly Refugee Shopping Day at a to-be-determined date this winter. We will welcome our refugee community members to “shop” through donations for essential items they need.
We’re looking for donations of clothing, shoes, household items, and bicycles to ensure that we can meet the needs of those coming to “shop” with us.
If you are interested in donating, below are the specific items we need:

Ruth and her family are originally from Guatemala and have lived in the United States for over six years. Ruth is a student at Catholic Charities of Boston’s El Centro del Cardenal in Jamaica Plain, where she is enrolled in level 5 English language learner classes.
January is National Mentoring Month, an annual campaign aimed at expanding mentoring opportunities and connecting more young people with adult mentors.
