Catholic Charities Salutes Veterans

LYNN — Catholic Charities North, with the collaboration of its national organization and AmeriCorps, has introduced a veterans assistance program with case management for both North Shore veterans and active military personnel, as well as their families.
Patty Carter, a volunteer for AmeriCorps — a national community service organization — helps the assistance program meet its objectives. She is a U.S. Navy veteran (1984-1988).
Catholic Charities in Brockton gives 700 turkey and chicken dinners to needy families
BROCKTON - Hundreds of area residents waited in line for food outside Catholic Charities South on Court Street on Tuesday.
The agency distributed 700 turkey and chicken dinners to needy residents from across the region, said Stacy Wyrosdic, program coordinator at Catholic Charities South, 169 Court St.
“The demand was huge this year,” said Wyrosdic, who served families and individuals waiting in line from 9 a.m. to about 4 p.m.
