An Update on Catholic Charities of Boston's Nurse Assistant and Home Health Aide Training Program
The Nurse Assistant/ Home Health Aide Training Program is temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We do plan on reopening and holding classes, but do not currently have a date set. We will post the reopening date here, so please check back often. We appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.
The Catholic Charities Teen Center at St. Peter's is excited to welcome ten teens from the Virtual MLK Scholars Program, sponsored by John Hancock, to work for the Teen Center this summer.
Sister Norma Pimentel, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, recently shared an op-ed in The Washington Post about her experiences in migrant camps at the US-Mexico border and responding to a recent COVID-19 case at the camp.
In the piece, she shares, "... the pandemic has made it more difficult to care for those who are arriving at the border each day. Since that lone COVID-19 case was identified, Mexico's National Immigration Institute has not allowed the camps to accept any new arrivals. So refugees are being turned away and have no place to go."
