Catholic Charities News
Last month, students and alumni from Boston College High School generously donated over 3,000 lbs. of food to Catholic Charities of Boston's Yawkey Center food pantry from their annual Thanksgiving food drive.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March, Catholic Charities' food pantries have responded to a five-fold increase in demand, distributing almost 2 million lbs. of food, and counting, to community members in need.
With the Christmas season of giving upon us, we are encouraging anyone interested in donating gifts to shop our Amazon Wish Lists for our clients in need. You can donate these gifts from the comfort of your own home and ship them directly to our program sites (addresses listed on Amazon) where they will be pre-packed for distribution to families in need this Christmas.
Catholic Charities of Boston's inaugural Giving Week: Compassion in Action was an amazing success! Our final Giving Week numbers are tallied, and the results are truly breathtaking! We had 987 donors over the week with over $880,000 raised.
Because of the work, dedication and support of our donors, staff and volunteers, these funds will have a significant impact on the lives of our neighbors in need. Please enjoy the videos shared throughout the week!
At Catholic Charities of Boston (CCAB), we see, each and every day, the need in our communities that continues to grow as a result of the COVID-19 health and economic crisis. While this need is especially amplified during the holiday season, this season also marks a time when many in our communities make an effort to give back or volunteer.
This month, our Volunteer Services team shared with The Boston Pilot thoughts about volunteerism and ways to get involved with CCAB.
