A Look at El Centro, One Year After Grand Opening of New Center

With spacious, sunlit classrooms, modern state-of-the-art teaching equipment, and hallways adorned with vibrant art and community resources, the new El Centro Center, which opened one year ago in Jamaica Plain, is a bustling space that offers students the chance to find a community, advance their English-speaking skills, and harness their unique skills and strengths.

“When I started at El Centro, we had no building or classroom, only class online,” said one student who immigrated from Venezuela with his wife and baby. “Now, with the new center, it’s perfect. We have teachers we can trust who help us not only with class but with life. They help us improve our whole life.”
