ABCD’s Community Heroes Celebration Honors Vice President of Basic Needs Beth Chambers and Husband Meyer Chambers

Catholic Charities Boston’s Vice President of Basic Needs, Beth Chambers, and her husband, Meyer Chamers, were honored at ABCD’s 2024 Community Heroes Celebration this week. The two were among a group of 17 volunteers recognized for their outstanding service in the Boston community.

Working in partnership with Catholic Charities Boston to move those in need from poverty to stability to success, ABCD oversees a range of programs that support low-income families, including Project Care and Concern (PCC), which provides hundreds of Dorchester residents with food and clothing every day.

In addition to Beth’s incredible work at Catholic Charities, and Meyer’s longtime career as Campus Minister for Liturgical Arts at Boston College, the two have been active members of Project Care and Concern’s mission for over twenty years.

“There’s no point in being a religious person if helping those in need isn’t your primary calling,” said Meyer.
