Fidelity Gives Security and Dignity to CCAB Clients this Holiday Season
Coats, towels, sheets, blankets, socks, diapers—many of Catholic Charities Boston’s clients struggle to afford these everyday items. For the second year in a row, Fidelity employees are helping to provide our clients with a sense of security and dignity this holiday season by donating such essentials, as well as childcare items like books and art supplies, to the Labouré Center.
Regan Scally, longtime Laboure board member and Vice President of Fidelity Investments in Boston, initiated this partnership last year and graciously invited the Labouré Center to participate again this year.
Molly Mcpheron, Office Manager at the Labouré Center, said that she reaches out to program directors within the Laboure Center to compile wish lists of the most-needed items among their clients and then sends them to Fidelity; the company then sends wrapped gifts back to the Labouré Center directly throughout the holiday season.
To date, the Labouré Center has received close to 100 items, with packages still arriving.
“This year, our ESOL students, counseling clients, elders in our Boston Housing Authority program and childcare families will all benefit from the overwhelming kindness of the Fidelity associates,” said Mcpheron. “We are so grateful.”
