Laboure Christmas Shoppe Spreads Holiday Cheer

Anyone who stepped foot into The Laboure Center’s lobby during the first weekend of December would have found themselves in a winter wonderland, the hallways lined with everything from decorative Christmas trees to festive candles to stuffed Santa Clauses.

The transformation was for Catholic Charities Boston’s annual Christmas Shoppe, a popup store and longstanding tradition in which Massachusetts retail stores and local boutiques donate Christmas décor to be resold from Labouré at a discount.

This year, Danielle McClure, owner of the West Broadway gift shop Neatly Nestled, donated a surplus of holiday merchandise, which Shoppe Leader Patty Cloherty and a team of volunteers helped to set up.

“Visiting shoppers were delighted about the return of the Shoppe, which has become an annual stop for many local families,” said Stewardship Manager, Maureen Murray. “The weekend had a very positive, community feel and was a great kickoff to the Christmas season.”

Raising over $6,500 within two days, the shoppe will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this week until inventory runs out. Customers at the shoppe also have the chance to enter a raffle for two tickets to the February 15 Celtics game.

Labouré Christmas Shoppe is located at 275 West Broadway, Boston. Please enter through the D St parking lot entrance. For more information, please call 617-464-8500.
