Labouré Christmas Shoppe Spreads Holiday Spirit in South Boston Community
From decorative Christmas trees in every color, to beautifully garnished wreaths, to winter-inspired candles, there is something for nearly everyone at the annual Labouré Christmas Shoppe. The Shoppe, which opened on December 2 for friends and neighbors in the South Boston community, has raised $6,500 to date. Visitors on Saturday were treated to Christmas carols by the Castle Island Association Choir.
Items sold at the shoppe are donated from retail stores and local boutiques, including the former South Boston home décor and gift shop, Neatly Nestled, and offered at a discount, making the holidays a bit more affordable for those trying to save money.
Maureen Murray, Stewardship Manager at the Labouré Center, said the longstanding tradition is a way of bringing people together and spreading joy as we enter the holiday season.
The shoppe will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this week until inventory runs out. Customers at the shoppe also have the chance to enter a raffle for holiday décor baskets and hostess gifts along with gift cards to local restaurants, Publico, American Provisions, and JP Licks. Tickets can be purchased until the draw on December 19.
Labouré Christmas Shoppe is located at 275 West Broadway, Boston. Please enter through the D St parking lot entrance. For more information, please call 617-464-8500.
