Social Justice and Remembering Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today, we remember Martin Luther King, Jr., one of our nation’s most prominent social justice leaders.  We are reminded of his legacy and his call for peace, unity, and positive change.

It has been a half-century since his murder, and still today, we find ourselves facing barriers in achieving social justice in our communities, including poverty, unemployment, and the rising cost of living.  The unrelenting health crisis has further exacerbated these inequalities within our neighborhoods.

Across our program areas, we find daily inspiration from MLK’s words as we continue our work of building a just and compassionate society rooted in the dignity of all people.
