As children prepare to return to school this fall, some families in the area find themselves unable to afford the cost of new school supplies. Backpacks for Kids is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing children in need with backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year. They have graciously provided CCAB with backpacks for our clients for 20 years. Over the years, the school supplies have been distributed to children at our Sunset Point Camp, Teen Center, South division in Brockton, Yawkey Center food pantry clients and some childcare students. We are grateful for their support of our clients and their dedication to ensuring that all students begin the school year prepared to learn.
In a recent article for The Dover-Sherborn Press, Beth Chambers, Director of Catholic Charities’ Greater Boston and South divisions, shared how important the backpack donations are for CCAB clients.
