Catholic Charities Boston Welcomes Six New Members to its Board of Trustees

The appointees come from a variety of fields and backgrounds and offer unique insights as the agency seeks to advance its mission  

Today, Catholic Charities Boston [CCAB], announced the appointment of six new members to its Board of Trustees: Keith W. Anderson, former Chief Financial Officer of Amwell and Wall Street banker; Sister Eileen Burns, SNDdeN, of Lawrence; Jeffrey R. Crisan, co-founder and Managing Partner of Silversmith Capital Partners; Ali Huberlie, partner/principal at EY-Parthenon; Maura E. Murphy, general counsel at John M. Corcoran & Co., and Michael H. Turpin, former managing director and Chief Operating Officer of PanAgora Asset Management. 

The Board elected Keith W. Anderson, Sister Eileen Burns, Jeffrey R. Crisan and Michael H. Turpin at its September 24th meeting. They join Ali Huberlie and Maura E. Murphy, who were elected earlier this year.

Their commitment and compassion enable us to provide vital services and support to those in critical need.”

CCAB welcomes the following new board members: 

Keith W. Anderson 

Needham, MA 

Keith W. Anderson currently serves as a consultant to venture capital and private equity organizations and prior was the Chief Financial Officer of Amwell, a healthcare technology company, where he led their $1 billion IPO.  He joined Amwell after 24 years of healthcare investment banking and public accounting in both New York and London. In 2018, Keith won The Deal’s “Healthcare Investment Banker of the Year” and in 2017 was named a Global M&A Network “Top 50 M&A Dealmaker.” He was formerly a CPA at Ernst & Young. Keith graduated from the University of Notre Dame with degrees in accounting and theology and received an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.  He currently serves on the boards of Breaktime, which focuses on breaking the cycle of young adult homelessness, and the Immigrant Learning Center in Boston. 

 

Sister Eileen Burns, SNDdeN 

Lawrence, MA  

Sister Eileen Burns, SNDdeN, is a past member of the leadership team of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur’s U.S. East-West Province. From 2008-2019, she worked at the Notre Dame Education Center-Lawrence, a community of learning where low-income adults are empowered to improve and enrich their lives and the lives of their families in an environment that is welcoming, respectful, and dignified. Notre Dame Education Center provides goal-oriented education, skills training, language and literacy development, enrichment opportunities and support services. 

Sister Eileen holds a master’s in ministry with a focus in justice and peace from Seattle University and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. 

 

Jeffrey R. Crisan 

Belmont, MA 

Jeff co-founded Silversmith Capital Partners in 2015 and focuses on investments in Healthcare IT & Services. Within Healthcare IT, Jeff partners with talented leaders of proven, high growth software and data companies that can either materially improve clinical outcomes or reduce administrative inefficiency within all segments of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem. Jeff’s healthcare services investments are centered around innovative care delivery models oriented towards value-based care that can be scaled both organically and through M&A. Prior to Silversmith Capital Partners, Jeff held positions at Bain Capital’s Private Equity group and Bain Capital Ventures, where he ultimately served as a Managing Director. Jeff holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and an AB, magna cum laude, in government and mathematics from Dartmouth College. He currently serves on the board of Teach for America Massachusetts and is a Finance Council Member at the New Roads Catholic Community in Belmont.  

 

Ali Huberlie  

Cambridge, MA  

Ali Huberlie is a Partner/Principal in the Education and Private Equity practices at EY-Parthenon. With a strong background in education and finance, Ali has served a diverse array of clients (including school districts, investors, and government entities) since joining EY-Parthenon in 2015. Ali holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Urban Studies and Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. She currently serves on the board and school committee of UP Academy Dorchester.

 

Maura E. Murphy 

Wellesley, MA 

Maura E. Murphy is General Counsel at John M. Corcoran & Co, where she provides legal guidance on a wide range of matters including acquisitions and financing, contracts, human resources, tax and accounting. Maura joined John M. Corcoran & Co. after serving as a director and shareholder at the Boston law firm of Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster for more than 20 years.  Maura holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an AB in English from the College of the Holy Cross. She is the Vice Chair and incoming Chair of the Board of Directors of Caritas Communities, Inc., which provides housing to very low-income individuals, and is a Trustee of the Wellesley Free Library. 

 

Michael H. Turpin, CFA 

Boston, MA  

Michael H. Turpin, CFA, recently retiredas the Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer of PanAgora Asset Management, following 30+ years with the firm. As COO, Michael was responsible for corporate finance, investment operations, technology, compliance, legal, HR, and corporate administration teams. Prior to PanAgora Michael was a small business owner, investment operations manager, and worked as a Certified Public Accountant. He holds an MBA from Babson College and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Worcester State University. Michael currently serves on the boards of the Fidrych Foundation, the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation, and the Samaritans.
