SENATOR MARKEY TO DELIVER LETTERS OF ENCOURAGMENT TO CHILDREN IN DETENTION FACILITIES
Catholic Charities After-school Program Students Share Heartfelt Wishes
On Wednesday, June 27 children ages 5-13 from Catholic Charities’ after school program in Peabody crafted dozens of cards of support for children and families currently being held in detention facilities at the United States’ border with Mexico. The cards, both in English and Spanish, offer words of encouragement, love, and solidarity. Senator Ed Markey will bring the cards to the children at the border next week when he tours the detention facilities.
Catholic Charities continues to offer support to our sister agencies serving the immediate need at the border and advocates for meaningful and just immigration reform. For more information on how you can help, please visit www.ccab.org/familyseparation.
