MORNING ADULT ESOL TEACHER – Full-time

 

Catholic Charities Laboure Center Adult Education program located in South Boston, seeks a full-time adult ESOL Teacher to join its team of dedicated professionals.

 

The Laboure Center Adult Education is a DESE funded intensive adult education program.  The program serves adult immigrant students of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds who prepare for successful studies in college or

vocational training programs.   The position is full-time at 37.5 hours

weekly. It includes 20 hours of classroom instruction (Adult ESOL/ college and career readiness).

 

•             Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in TESOL/Applied Linguistics

or related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of prior teaching experience is required.

 

•             TABE Class-E and BEST Plus certification is a plus. The interest in

working effectively and compassionately in a culturally competent manner with students of a wide variety of backgrounds, skills, race and ethnicity with varying levels of English language skills is needed.

ESOL TEACHER #1

 

•             Teachers ESOL I  requirements are; 12 hours of Critical Thinking/Academic

Writing, 8 hours  - 20 instruction, 37.5 weekly. Provides classroom instruction, educational advising, and developing curriculum materials which meet best practice standards and focus on academic skills needed for post-secondary studies, including pre-college reading and writing, effective oral communication, critical thinking, and technology skills. Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. – 4p.m.

 

ESOL TEACHER #2

•             Teachers ESOL II requirements are 12 hours of ESOL V 4 hours, M 4 hours -

20 instructional; 37.5 weekly.  Provides classroom instruction, educational advising, and developing curriculum materials which meet best practice standards and focus on academic skills needed for post-secondary studies, including pre-college reading and writing, effective oral communication, critical thinking, and technology skills. Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. – 4p.m.
