UPDATE: In the interest of public health, and following the lead of other similar organizations, unfortunately we must postpone our upcoming comedy show, "Ladies Who Laugh- Comedy for a Cause," originally planned for April 16.
The event is rescheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2020.
The health and safety of our supporters, staff, clients and volunteers remains our priority.
We thank you for your support and understanding and look forward to seeing you in the fall.
Join Emcee Susan Wornick and local comediennes Kathe Farris and Erika Welch (with some special guests!) for a fun-filled laugh-out-loud evening with food, drink and giggles. We will have the ever popular "wine pull" as well as some creative and novel vendors who will sell their treasures before the comedy show begins!
Erika Rettman Welch is a comedian and storyteller who leaves people roaring with laughter wherever she goes. When she’s not working out to her vast collection of 80s videos, Erika is parenting three kids by day and by night she is a co-producer of the Boston Comedy Chicks. You may have seen her over the years performing with HAHA Momma, Boston Comedy Chicks, Expressing Motherhood or the Women in Comedy Festival. She always makes new friends whether she’s performing in five star ballrooms or bars without windows. Her sarcastic but truthful brand of “mom-com” will have you rearranging the pictures on your dream board in no time!
A teacher by day, Chrissy Judge spends her evenings trying to amuse adults in oddly shaped functions rooms...and correcting papers.
Kathe Farris is a Boston-based stay at home mom, stand-up comedian and snack cake enthusiast. She hit the comedy scene a little late in life but quickly made up for it by becoming a Comic in Residence at The Comedy Studio and a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival. She is a fixture on local stages in New England thanks to her intelligent yet accessible material. Kathe performs regularly for private and corporate events. Known for her understated demeanor and punchline-heavy writing, her act impresses audiences all over the country. In addition to performing, Kathe is on the teaching staff at ImprovBoston and runs a popular comedy workshop through the Boston Comedy Chicks.
Mike Dorval is a Boston-based comedian and self-described “left-leaning dad.” After a mere three months of performing, he won the New Hampshire Comedy Festival, defeating some of New England’s most established comics in the process. Armed with only his joke-writing abilities and quick wit, he quickly climbed the comedic ranks and became one of the youngest headliners in Boston history. He’s been praised by the Boston Globe as “One of Boston’s Best.” Mike is known for his accessible yet refined material detailing life as a father, dutiful husband, and slightly bewildered civilian just trying to do his best. He easily wins over audiences with his approachable demeanor and keen insights into relationships, family dynamics, and navigating a society gone mad. He also draws accolades from audience members and comics alike for his skillful crowd work. He has been featured in Comedy Central’s Laugh Riots, starred in numerous television commercials, and toured overseas for the USO. He honestly hopes you’re having a good day.
