Basic Needs, By the Numbers

Friday, March 20, 2020

During this time of immense uncertainty, Catholic Charities of Boston remains committed to serving our community members as best we can, thanks to the support of our dedicated staff, volunteers and donors.

With increasing concerns around COVID-19 in the Greater Boston area and beyond, our food pantries have seen an influx of families looking for help putting food on their tables.  In the last week alone, the pounds of food distributed from our pantries increased by 54.5% (11,000 lbs last week, 17,000 lbs this week), and the number of families served increased by 260% (193 families last week, 696 families this week).

We expect that these numbers will continue to rise as the weeks go on, and we need your help now more than ever.

Please consider making a donation today. Food, hygiene items and grocery store gift cards can be dropped off or shipped via Amazon to our Yawkey Center location- 185 Columbia Road, Dorchester, MA.  Monetary donations can be made by clicking here:
