At the end of June, Massachusetts declared that child care locations across the state could reopen with strict COVID-19 safety guidelines in place. Catholic Charities of Boston operates five center-based child care sites and close to 90 subcontracted family child care locations that serve over 1,100 infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and school-aged children each year. After a few months of supporting the families in our program remotely, it has been a joy and a challenge to begin welcoming families back to child care this summer.
