Volunteers are back at St. Ambrose Shelter

Wednesday, March 24, 2021

St. Ambrose Famliy Shelter is pleased to welcome back group volunteers to join us in socially distanced volunteer opportunities.

Last week, three students from Emmanuel College assisted with preparing food boxes, food, and personal needs bags for community distribution and cleaned up the food pantry.

Pictured above, the students help Fr. Lin of St. Ambrose Church load up his car to deliver pre-packed food bags to neighborhood families in need.

The students helped distribute food to community members, as well. Pictured are the students with a grateful parent receiving a couple of bags of food for her family.

By the end of the day, the student volunteers packed and distributed more than 50 bags of food, PPE, personal needs items, and cleaning supplies.

The Circle K service club from Northeastern University volunteered during their service day last week, helping the team organize and clean up rooms inside the shelter.

We are grateful for our continued partnership with area colleges and universities and look forward to welcoming more students to volunteer with us soon!
